This summer neutral genre as been officialised in Canada. The name "X" may be entered on the identity papers of persons not identifying either the female or the male sex, the Canadian government announced it on Thursday (August 24th).
As a first step, mention may be made on the official documents of "persons who do not identify themselves as women (" F ") or as men (" M ")", in order to indicate a desire that their sex be "Designated as" X ", for unspecified".
The announcement aims to make it easier to obtain passports, travel documents or immigration documents "that better reflect their gender identity," the federal government said in a statement.
Effective August 31
